Ignatian Companions is an opportunity for adults who desire to deepen their awareness and love of God through actions accompanying the poor and marginalized while engaging with fellow Companions in dialogue, prayer and discernment rooted in the spirituality of St Ignatius of Loyola.
Ignatian Companions is a program of Ignatian Spiritual Life Center in San Francisco and is an endorsed work of Jesuits West, a province of the Society of Jesus. The program is offered at Santa Clara University, the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley and the Ignatian Spiritual Life Center in San Francisco.
To be a Companion is to be a person of deep desires, generosity, and faith. Companions desire to draw closer to God through prayer and accompanying the poor and marginalized in their community.
The yearly fee for First Year and Second Year Companions is $500. The fee covers the following expenses: printing of the workbooks, stipends for the facilitators, three books for the Second Year Companions, opening and closing retreats, any rent for meeting spaces, and administrative expenses. If financial assistance is needed, please let us know when you apply. Our Scholarship can cover partial or the full cost of the program. No one will be turned away due to cost.
Companions in the third year and beyond have a yearly fee of $250 which covers opening and closing retreats, rent for meeting spaces, and administrative expenses.
Note: The cost for your monthly meetings with a Spiritual Director is not included in the program fees. Please make the necessary arrangements with your Spiritual Director.
